In His Arms

Created for the AnnaColor Challenge https://ozone.oscraps.com/forum/showthread.php?t=30740

Journaling reads: It is the simple things in life that a grand-daughter will remember about her grandfather. The excitement of running on the beach, trying hard to keep from getting wet as the waves hit the shore. She will remember the brightness and warmth of the sun, the salty smell in the air, and the feeling of strong arms keeping her safe, keeping her from getting wet - giggling all the while. These simple things matter most in life.

Artsy Layered Template No. 83 http://www.oscraps.com/shop/product.php?productid=32722&page=1

The Process: I dont really know how it can be that I never used ALT #83. I think it is now my favorite of all of Annas templates. I began with the template, and attached the photo to a white paint layer on the center lower portion of the template. I then added the cardstock to help me decide how to modify the remaining layers of the template. I liked the tan cardstock, and changed a few of the template layers to either a tan hue or a soft blue hue. I adore the paper from this weeks sale ArtPlay, and used one of the Artsy Papers from that kit to attach to two of the paint layers on the template. I modified the color of the Artsy Paper to blue hues, and brought down their opacity. I added a few additional transfers from AP Simplitiy, and rearranged a few layers, bringing some to the top of the layer stack to better stand out. I added the tan chevron paper from AP Simplity, placed it on Blend Mode Multiply, and then using the reverted masking technique from AnnaBlendz No. 4 http://www.oscraps.com/shop/product.php?productid=10010902&cat=422&page=1, blended some of the texture from the chevron paper to portions of the layout. The photo was somewhat over-taken by many of the other layers, so I duplicated the photo, and dragged it above most of the other layers, and again using the Inverted Masking Technique, I blended portions of the photo back in. I added the word strip and starfish elements, and moved some of the artstrokes from the template to the base of the photo. I added the journaling, changed the color of the WordART LOVE, and placed it on blend mode multiply. I duplicated the word LOVE, and enlarged it, placing on top of the photo area, and placed it on blend mode Screen, reducing its opacity to about 20%. I added a fotoblendz from FotoNFrame to the top of the layer stack, and placed it on blend mode Overlay to darken portions of the layout, masking portions of it away, where it caused the photo to become too dark. I had tried both a soft blue and a tan as a base color, and in the end decided to blend the two to mimick the angle of the shoreline. I then FORCED myself to stop working on it, and called it complete!!!
