I took a trip to Galveston, Texas this past weekend. I drove through the Bolivar Peninsula to get there. The entire town of Bolivar was wiped off the map during Hurricane Ike last year, with the exception of the house in the picture. It was the only thing left on the peninsula after the storm passed through. It is still pretty much the only thing on the peninsula. One of the most gut-wrenching things for me during hurricane recovery is seeing all the children's toys scattered everywhere. Thousand of children's toys everywhere, all loved at one time by children who may or may not return one day. All those toys, just waiting........
