How Texas Decorates for the Holidays

Well, this is how the city of Austin decorates the banks of Lady Bird Lake (which is actually the Colorado River) for the holidays. The Trail of Lights is a 50 year tradition that delights millions of residents and visitors each year. The trail is a 1.25 mile walking trail filled with lighted displays for youngsters of all ages. An interactive Santa's workshop, Candy Cane Lane, Toyland, the North Pole and a Texas-size yule log are just a few of the delights along the trail. Of course, Santa visits every night and there's hot cocoa and other treats availableincluding Austin's famous taco trucks.

And no visit is complete until you take a spin underneath the Zilker Tree. The Zilker Tree stands 155 feet tall and is filled with 3,309 lights. At the top of the tree, a double star measures 10 feet from point to point. It has a unique spiral pattern that was created by the City of Austin electricians, and you will get dizzy when you spin!!! That's all part of the fun!

Used Anna Aspnes' template #109 and few photos from the Trail of Lights website.

Thanks for looking.
