Go to the Beach

Created for the May Bingo Challenge https://ozone.oscraps.com/forum/showthread.php?t=39369 at Oscraps using To Beach https://www.oscraps.com/shop/To-Beach.html from Design by Tina, Summer Time Kit, https://www.oscraps.com/shop/Summer-Time-Full-Kit.html Hello July Kit, https://www.oscraps.com/shop/Hello-July-Kit-PU-by-Florju-Designs.html Fly Free Black Gesso https://www.oscraps.com/shop/Fly-Free-Brush-grunge-black-gesso-PU-by-Florju-Designs.html and Ocean Treasure Word Art https://www.oscraps.com/shop/Ocean-Treasure-WA-PU-by-Florju-Designs.html from Florju Designs and Meshes 1, https://www.oscraps.com/shop/Meshes-1-CU.html Ripped Paper Templates 1 https://www.oscraps.com/shop/Ripped-Paper-Templates-1.html and Summer Breeze Elements https://www.oscraps.com/shop/Summer-Breeze-Elements.html from Manu Design Studio.

I chose the middle vertical row of lattice or netting, gesso and torn paper.

The background consists of multiple layers. I begin by using four paper layers. The first layer is a blue, white and purple paper from Hello July by Florju. The next layer is a blue, green and yellow paper from Summertime also by Florju with a blend mode of darker color. Above that is a green and blue paper from To Beach from Design by Tina with a darker color blend mode. The top layer is a blue and peach paper also from To Beach and using a darker color blend mode. I then added a transparent layer above the background paper layers and used the Fly Free Black Gesso brushes to add yellow paint to the background. I then added another transparent layer above that and painted that layer with the same brushes using white to add gesso. For this layer I followed Viva Artistrys tutorial on gesso overlays http://vivaartistry.com/what-to-do-with-the-gesso-overlays/ to give the gesso a more realistic look.

I then wanted to add more color to the picture frame. I placed a transparent layer above the frame, clipped it to the frame and then used the same brushes with both a yellow and a coral color to add more color to the frame.

For the Enjoy the journey part of the title, I clipped a paper from Summertime to the word art. I used a Blend Mode of Dissolve on the word art itself and then added a downward Emboss.

I used color overlays on the middle starfish above the netting, the go to the beach word art and the butterfly in the top corner to recolor them. The butterfly uses color overlays in coral and yellow to create the multiple colors that you see.
you put a lot of work into this and it shows, gorgeous colors and depth to the papers and frame! Love how it looks like a window I could walk through and get to the water (I wish!!!!)

This is such a wonderful layout! I love that artistic look of the background and frame and all the elements going down the side.
