The 12 words are from Miroslav Holub's poem, "Go and Open the Door." Holub was a Czech immunologist and poet. Here is the entire poem:
Go and open the door.
Maybe outside theres
a tree, or a wood,
a garden,
or a magic city.
Go and open the door.
Maybe a dogs rummaging.
Maybe youll see a face,
or an eye,
or the picture
of a picture.
Go and open the door.
If theres a fog
it will clear.
Go and open the door.
Even if theres only
the darkness ticking,
even if theres only
the hollow wind,
even if
nothing
is there,
go and open the door.
At least
therell be
a draught.
