Photoshop Elements 14

It's really hard to scrapbook steam.

I used the MIR Template Album because it comes in spreads, so that means a lot of the design decision-making is done for me. On this layout, after removing the calendar and large alpha that comes with each spread, I started with the gutter, putting in a few Fotoblendz Overlays in order to get the photo down the centerline. Usually the centerline is something I do last in a photo book, but on this spread, I wanted a statement of the geothermal activity going across the page. It is REALLY HARD to document steam and spray! After figuring out the photo progression, I used the spread pretty much as it was designed, just removing the hipster plumes and most of the optional labels. To finish up I added the background, Edge Brushes, the word labels, and a few buttons.
This is beautiful and really conveys the mood I feel every time I'm there. And the colors. Out here, some of us think occasionally about its potential for utter devastation for all of us.

Looks like there's enough energy for a power plant. I hadn't imagined conifers in that sort of environment. Amazing. Love how the buttons lead your eye through the photos.

You perfectly captured your adventure. I always love to see your smiling face too.

I love the colors - and cool how you did the gutter! love the photos - your album is going to be georgeous and you did great to convey the steam!

That turquoise is wonderful! Definitely says geothermals, and I love the buttons (turquoise and copper)! Interesting challenge about capturing steam - never thought about it :)

amazing photos and composition. love the grey of the fog and the touch of turquoise spread all over the page.

Love the compliments of turquoise! Excellent job capturing the steam!

Love the center placement to connect the composition. The photos are fantastic--great shots and your steam is amazing.
