We had never set off on a trip where we knew the forecast was rain for the whole week, but in the high country we figured it would mostly rain every afternoon. But it was already raining at 4 am, and we were amazed by the beautiful fog around 7 am as we stopped above the molybdenum mines.
You had me at molybdenum mines. Going to have to look that up. On the rain, though, I can comment. No better birding weather! No better weather to observe carnivorous plants, like the pitcher plant. (No bad weather if your clothes are good, but a nice glass of wine at the end of the hike is always welcome.)
