Just a note on this little girl - Tyler was a spoon fed Umbrella Cockatoo born here in Southern California. I bought her when she was still a baby. Although she was the sweetest little girl, always wanting love, affection, hugs, and being held, she had a very playful side. Birds, in the wild, when threatened, will puff up, and get as big as possible, while hissing, and moving their body from side to side, hopefully scaring off their opponent. Tyler did this when she played, but was never aggressive. It was comical watching her be this way, knowing she was all bark but no bite.
The quote that came to mind when scrapping this was a line from Seabiscuit Though he be but little, he is fierce. I know it was said it came from Shakespeare, so when looking it up, I found the actual line was And though she be but little, she is fierce, coming from A Midsummer Nights Dream. The original line, of course, fit Tyler better, as Tyler was female.
Second note: After my dd was born, I felt it necessary to give her to a friend of mine, as we could no longer let her roam freely around the house with an infant around. Tyler was too use to being the center of our attention. Cockatoos live quite long, (70 to 90 years), and she is now 27 years old.
