My daughter's spouse is a finalist for this year's James Beard Foundation's Best Chef, New York Category, one of five other finalists in an event that has become known as the “Oscars of the Food World.” The kids run Harana Market together and it's such a big deal to be honored in this way. This extraction of my daughter was from one of the publicity photos, and I couldn't resist popping her into an idealized meadow because I hardly ever see her in repose these days. Fingers crossed for June, but the whole Harana team is already a big winner in my book.

After placing the extraction, the rest of the layout consisted of building the meadow. I started with the paper, then added the word cluster, multimedia element and a few other odds and ends, such as florals and brushes, to complete the design.
