I was meant to have a parent/teacher conference with one of G's teachers this morning. I got there and waited about 10 minutes before going into the office and asking where she might be. Turns out, she called in sick, but didn't bother to have anyone inform ME of that fact. So I wasted a whole morning, as I then had to trudge home (good 20 mins walk) in a miserable snowstorm. Not even half-way and I couldn't see anything due to the snow on my glasses and in my eyes, oh and the right eye being swollen shut with stinging snow and running mascara. I was SO angry. Only good thing was that I could listen to the radio on the way home and got to hear a pretty cool up-and-coming folksy artist sing live. First song he sang literally had me grinning ear-to-ear in the middle of that stupid snow storm...was fully intending to buy his album when I got home, only to discover it's not AVAILABLE at the US iTunes store. More irritation and a scrap-therapy layout emerges...

Process: This is one of those scrap-therapy layouts where you literally start throwing things on the page in order to get emotions out and leave yourself feeling slightly more peaceful. I started with the background paper that had a tilt and blended the two photos into the blankish spots and then I just started layering brush after transfer after brush on top of around, beneath, above below...the more the better because I was IRRITATED. Blendmodes on most of the brushes to keep them subtle without overpowering the layout (color burn, overlay and linear burn are my blends of choice). The chills transfer is recolored to match the storm palette and pretty much everything was tilted at the same angle as the background paper. *Putting your journaling on a colorblend mode allows it to take on the structure of the paper, helping it to look more realistic.
