Easy-Peasy Extraction

This was one of the easiest extractions I've ever done - for my LO "Origamido Butterfly" https://ozone.oscraps.com/gallery/s...-ladder-day-2origamido-butterfly&cat=1351. The technique stands a good chance of working any time you're photographing something dark (especially if the color of the object isn't super-critical), b/c you can put the object on white paper (I've also seen people use a white bedsheet for bigger objects that have to stand up - like vases) and set the blend mode to multiply. That should make the white BG disappear without affecting the color of the item being photographed too much - and the shadows will be preserved. To the extent possible, try to make the white of your background your white point when you are doing the photography (i.e., don't underexpose).
EDIT: forgot to say - the reason for doing the healing on a separate layer is that the healing is then nondestructive. If you mess up, just delete the healing layer and try again.
