Story:
The jokes were also a pretty big hit this year and brought about a few laughs. After dessert, we exchanged gifts, Mai and Richard went home to beat the snow, and Ella and Luke began making cookies for Santa, sprinkling reindeer food on the lawn while keeping an eye on Santas whereabouts via the computer. Christmas Eve is a busy time as we prep for the Big Guy's arrival: milk is poured into a mug, carrots are placed on a plate for reindeer along with cookies for Santa, and this year there were mini cookies for Sam too. Ella and Lukes big request was that Santa allow Sam to stay another day as hed done last year and he apparently was more than happy to oblige. The rest of the night was spent dancing on Christmas Eve as we often do before it was time to undertake the task of, not just getting the children to bed, but also to sleep in time for Santas impending arrival.

I lay down with Luke for a while. Daddy passed out in Ellas bed and proceeded to snore the rest of the night. She said she didnt sleep a wink and thinks she heard Santa come in her room and shake the bed saying *naughty*. She also recounts the tale of presents rustling downstairs amidst voices emanating from a TV that had not been switched off. They only had to be told one time at 11.30pm to go back to beds and wait until morning to open their stockings!
