I have several favorite Christmas memories,
but the one that always floats to the
surface at this time of the year
involves seeing it snow on Christmas Eve. for
the first time. I spent Christmas Eve at my best
friend's house that night because my Mom had to
work. The tradition was for the kids to open one
gift on Christmas Eve. My friend and I had just
opened our gifts when I heard one of the grown-ups
exclaim "It's snowing"! We all moved to the big picture
window to look out and there, swirling in the light from
the Streetlamp, were lovely, fat, snowflakes. Everyone
watched in wonder while carols were being broadcast
over the radio. It was a beautiful experience and a
magical sight and I remember it fondly.
