Dancers

When I think of ballet, I always think of The Nutcracker and of Toulouse Latrec's art. I was equally mesmerized by both. Long ago, I bought a clip art CD of his dancers/art. (Remember those days?) Anyway, Anna's new brushes reminded me of the beauty and of the realism of his dancer art.

Supplies:
Ballet No.1 Brushes **New & On Sale**

ArtPlay Palette Sparkle

Process notes:
I opened up the ArtsyPaper No. 4 from ArtPlay Palette Sparkle and rotated it 90 degrees. I placed my dancer art and blended it into the background. I stamped brush No. 7 from the NEW ballet brush set. Added a shadow and a recolored stroke to emphasize it more. I added a variety of transfers from APP Sparkle behind the brushed ballerina. I also place several transfers around the masked art to give it more interest and dimension. I created a composite layer (Shift+OPT+CMD +E), duplicated it and applied blend modes of divided and luminosity to give more of a pastel sketch look. A quote using the ballet brush No. 1 was the final touch. Whats that old sayingdance as if no one is watching?

Thanks for looking.
Love how the vertical division of the page makes an intimate space for the dancer.

For me ballet is Degas, this reminds me of his work so well.
Love your details and textures!

I still have lots of clip art CDs and I love them. I adore the intimate feeling of your page, like sharing a private moment of the dancer.

she looks like she has just completed the most beautiful dance in the world and the stamp gives us a glimpse as to what that dance looked like. love how your told us your story. beautiful
