The challenge is to run an action on a photo. Marianne has a link for a free action. This is an action I wrote. It turns a photo into a cross stitch. I wrote this after spending hours trying to place individual stitches. It is much faster with the action ;-)

Process...
I started with the canvas tag. I enlarged it, then created two photo masks. On the left, I clipped the original photo and added a canvas texture over the photo. On the right, I clipped the photo that was modified with the cross stitch action. The "o" in the title I did by hand. I used a grid to place the x's, then got rid of the grid. The little numbers on the right are DMC floss numbers for those colors (approximately). For the scissors, I added a little cut in the paper so that they looked like they were held down in some manner. Added the journaling and border and it was done.
