Gentle Morning is one of my favs APPgrey, brown, touches of butternut and with coffee accents. So I went with a coffee theme as coffee is my best friend in the morning. I come from a long line of coffee drinkers. My Mom was Swedish and she drank coffee all day. My grandparents had a pot on the stove 24-7. I was even allowed to drink coffee with cream when I was 8 or 9, but only one cup. Unheard of today. So, yes, coffee has been my best friend ever since.

Process notes:
I used SolidPaper No. 5 from APP Gentle Morning (one of my long-tine favs). I placed a 12 x 12 fotoBlendz, resized and clipped my illustration to it, creating my design base. I added transfers 1, 3, and 5 behind the design, varying the blend modes and masking out what I did not want. I added the foliage element and a button as an accent on the right side. Also added a texture above the cup to simulate steam. Since I was using a gray background, I placed an ArtsyEdge frame behind the focal and changed the blend mode to linear dodge to add more interest. Time to add some punch, so I added the clock, coffee beans behind it and the text from Rise WA. Journaling finished that part of the design. To add even more interest, I created a cluster on the left-side using the foliage, beans, wordArt and an artstroke. Final touch was another ArtsyEdge frame.
Thanks for looking.
