Text:
We will excavate up to an approximate 40' x 4' x 6' deep area along the north foundation wall to allow installation of piers. The piers will be installed to a bid depth of 25'. If additional depth is required to reach proper torque and/or bearing strata, a cost of $29.89 per foot will apply. Interior shoring will be installed and then we will attempt to raise and stabilize the area to as near original elevation as it will allow, achieving maximum practical recovery.

Journaling:
We were shocked to learn that the bentonite shifted our foundation six inches, and suspected leaks in the water main just jorth of us were to blame. We were thankful that we had saved our money for a rainy day.

Amazing--how you can make such an interesting page out of unfortunate circumstances--and so very cleverly done!! Hopefully your home is resettled and the rain has stopped falling. Love your little umbrella and coin. Is ram-jack what they have to do do reposition things??

Yikes. Am always amazed when I notice signs of our house shifting--Mother Earth is not static, that's for sure. Great use of dimension and texture here, which really do suggest things in motion. Good luck with the foundation work!

Oh my, what a nightmare! We had a pipe burst last year and had to replace all the plumbing and worry about the effect on the foundation. There is so much wonderful imagery on these pages - the coin and umbrella, the bricks, the texture - wonderfully done!

Love the textures and the umbrella. Great journaling! Scary situation - I hope all is ok. Florida's problem is sinkholes. In a nearby town a large sinkhole swallowed 2 houses. Thankfully, no one was hurt.

It's an article of faith, that our house will stand solid, but it's just not the truth.

awww, sorry you're going thru this. one can hope that it turns out better than expected? love the symbolism of the wall.

Sorry about the water damage and shifting of the house. When we did some remodeling we found that our house had sunk on one side causing the walls to crack. Love the umbrella and how it represents rain. Amazing page!
