We will excavate up to an approximate 40' x 4' x 6' deep area along the north foundation wall to allow installation of piers. The piers will be installed to a bid depth of 25'. If additional depth is required to reach proper torque and/or bearing strata, a cost of $29.89 per foot will apply. Interior shoring will be installed and then we will attempt to raise and stabilize the area to as near original elevation as it will allow, achieving maximum practical recovery.
Journaling:
We were shocked to learn that the bentonite shifted our foundation six inches, and suspected leaks in the water main just jorth of us were to blame. We were thankful that we had saved our money for a rainy day.
