We took the ferry to the Dry Tortugas NP. The ocean was calm so it was an easy ride and took a little over 2hrs. Wings (a birding tour organization) was on the ferry and Dave knew the leader from a previous trip. They were so nice and helped us spot and confirm birds. Also they got the Captain to drive fairly close to the only nesting site of the masked booby this area. It was a crack up as all the bird watchers made a mash dash to the front of the ferry as soon as we made it to open waters. I did not stand the whole time but a lot did.
