Austin has a beautiful skyline, it's often photographed at dusk when the lights just begin to shimmer off of Lady Bird Lake.

Process notes:
I sometimes like to play with an Artsy Kardz .psd (photoShop document) instead of an ArtPlay Palette. (Challenges my creativity by finding photos to match the Artsy Kardzand then playing with the stains, artstrokes, paint and textures within to create my design.) I selected Paper No. 1 from AK En Route because its bold with a color palette of cream and black with splashes of turquoise. And I thought it would be perfect to use for my photo of the Austin skyline at dusk. I rotated it 90 degrees. I positioned my photo in the upper one-third of the page and masked it using Multilayered FotoBlendz No. 7. The design seemed somewhat uneven with one-half on the bottom section colored cream, so I duplicated and rotated the background page using a blend mode of multiply, this added a nice dark and dusty vibe. My photo seemed washed out, so I played with PhotoShop filters and ended using colored pencil, copied it twice setting the blend modes to color burn and vivid light at 31 and 100% opacity. I added a few Artsy Paint No. 9 brushes behind the masked photo in shades of white and light turquoise to add more a misty feel. Simple text completed my layout.
