Cactus

These brushes are so much fun, I just wanted to create a messy watercolor kind of page with them.

Process Notes: Solid paper 3 as my foundation, I brought in the 12 x 12 FotoBlendz and clipped solid paper 4 to it. I put the mask on Color Burn. Over these two layers I placed another 12 x 12 FotoBlendz and clipped solid paper 1 to the mask. I left the mask on Normal blend mode.

I stamped Ellas cactus in black in each of the squares of the mask. Then choosing bright colors, I used the artsy paint stamps under the cactus in the layers panel. I stamped each square with two different artsy paints, building up the watercolor look. I turned down the opacity on some of them.

Using Annas version of the same cactus, I stamped over the original brushes, using the colors from the opposite corners of the layout. I added some splatters and little art strokes from brushes I had loaded (Portiere) and the label transfer clipping mask. I clipped solid paper 4 to it, leaving the mask layer on Normal.

I added the title and 12 x 12 artist edge to finish the page.
This is so beautiful in it's simplicity and yet all the brush work says it all! Great idea!

Barabara, how freaking adorable is this? When I have time, I am going to read and try your process notes out, TFS them!

This is delightful, Barbara! Fun play with eA's little plants! Hope you hang this or would make darling note cards too!
