Notes for Photoshop Elements 14
Inspired by Linda Davis's experiments in Anna's Photoshop Brush class (I am waiting for the Elements version to roll around in April), I freed up some playtime to use actual brushes instead of the PNGs I usually rely on. I started with my son's photo, clipping it to a few layers on Gelid Arsty Transfer #1 as well as to a few layers of Inclement Artsy Transfer #5. Then I began the brushwork. I began by stamping the Artsy Paint in strategic places, then clipping the photo to them on different blending modes. I then stamped a few of the brushes in different colors to add emphasis in certain areas. I then experimented with the Cloud Brushes. The upshot is that I simply cannot wait for the Elements Brush class to start.
When I was done with all that, I added another of the Gelid Artsy Transfers (#2), a background (an Artsy Paper from the High5 Mini-Palette), the ribbon, and raindrops from the MultiMedia Rain set. To get the word stormy I had to cut and paste a y to the word storm in the WordART set; I then tweaked the layers and blending modes to get a darker effect. The quote is typed in Mom's Typewriter and embossed, using the color dodge blending mode to sink it into the background. And because the photo was awful, snapped through the window from my son's office, I used a lot of light leaks for disguise.
