My mothers cousin married a cattleman and left the small town where she was brought up to live in the outback miles from anywhere. She took to country life as though shed lived there all her life. Learnt to ride and muster cattle. Brand calves. Fix fences. Lived through the droughts, floods, the good and bad years. Made a home and garden for the man she loved and the family they had together.
