Color Challenge - Beach Bliss

My daughter Jackie took this photo of my granddaughter Autumn sitting on a sea wall in Hawaii, looking out over the ocean. It was such an easy photo to work with because the sky was totally washed out, so blending was a snap. The drawback is the photo is very tiny and I had to enlarge it to a size it wasnt meant to be. Guess thats the beauty of creating an artsy layout, you can fudge a little bit and make it okay.

Process Notes: Starting with artsy paper 3 I added the mask in the transfer area of the paper. I clipped my photo and duplicated it twice. Leaving the first photo on Normal, the second on Screen blend mode at 76% opacity and the third photo layer on Soft Light blend mode at 100% opacity. Over those I used the Glow on Overlay at 62% opacity.

Matching up the horizon of the Oasis brush along the horizon line of the photo, resized it and clipped a transfer from the Palette to it, putting it on Hard Light blend mode at 100% opacity. Over it and along the left edge I placed an Overlay from the Palette, blending to Darker Color and 72% opacity.

After resizing and placing the twig, I placed the flower and charm over it and the word art underneath, recoloring and making it a sticker. Then I created the bottom right cluster using stamps and word art underneath the elements.

I finished the layout by clipping a couple parts from a Authentic artsy transfer to the photo layers and adjusting the blending and opacity. Also, I added brushes here and there from the Palette to create texture in the sand and on the right side of the photo. And finally the postmark in the upper right corner.
This LO is bliss....i totally love how you've made the elements and photo interact. And all the blendy gooeyness....yum!

Love this layout and design. All of the little extras make it beautiful. I love the way you made the type fit the slant of the shoreline on the left. I would never have thought of doing that!!

So many great concepts here! Love the vine dividing the page in such a loose way. Love the charm hanging from it and your GD sitting on it. Love the perspective of the Oasis palm trees. Wonderful!
