We knew that it was the range for both American Goldfinch and Lesser Goldfinch, but we couldn't identify which we saw. The females have the same drab coloring as winter males.
Oh they completely cleaned out my large bird feeder today! I always smile when they show up after winter. I love the brilliant males and laugh watching them trying not to be intimidated by the cardinals. haha Your pages are gorgeous. I really like all the stitching.
LOL it is so true how hard it is to identify these goldfinches in the winter. Spent a lot of time before I realized it was a female LOL. awesome extraction - love him on top of the stitching! gorgeous!
