Process: I began with my photo, using a layer mask to delete the background. I then duplicated the copy twice. On the first copy, I found the edges, changed the blend mode to multiply and set the opacity at 35%. On the second copy, I applied a watercolor filter and reduced the opacity to 25%. I then began creating a background. I used a solid paper_1 from ArtPlay Autumn Soul as a foundation. Above that I place the chevron paper_8 from Infatuated at 75% opacity. Next is solid paper_2 on multiply at 100%. I attached a black and white adjustment layer to this paper and set the opacity at 75%. Next I placed the word overlay_2 from ArtPlay Story, changed the blend mode to linear burn and the opacity to 50%. I used two stained edge overlays to add depth and interest to the background, reducing the opacity and blend mode to about 25%. I added the words from Michael Rosens book and used the tag from ArtPlay Classico for a little journaling and the date. I placed a couple of brushes below the tag for a foundation. For my title, I clipped a dot paper, above which I added a black and white adjustment layer, to the desaturated alpha and changed its blend mode to linear burn.

Thanks for looking:)
What an adorable photo - so sweet. Love the b&W, and that you pretty much used the entire layout for the photo. Love the Alpha you used - and the text is perfect. Perfect for the aA Color Challenge!

Precious photo! Love that you kept it large! Love the subtle texture also! Bear hunts can be scary but always fun with Grandma and Grandpa! Gorgeous page!

Nice detailed explanation, and interesting use of the chevron paper in B&W, I found that the chevron paper from APP gives the perfect coloring for faces. I like your wonderful results. Ann
