S.D. Wild Animal Park

This is for this weeks AnnaLift, with inspiration by Ellen's beautiful layout "3 sisters" https://ozone.oscraps.com/forum/showthread.php?t=30686

We are fortunate enough to live near a good amount of tourist attractions living so close to San Diego. As Rachel grew, we often visited the different parks each and every weekend, and would go for just a few hours, knowing we could come back again whenever we wanted. Now that Rachel is older, we still obtain a season pass to the San Diego Zoo/Safari Park (which I still call the San Diego Wild Animal Park), as the Wild Animal Park is closer to our home than the Zoo is. We walked as far as one of the many overlooks to view the giraffes eating. This little one was so very cute, with legs spread, trying to reach some food on the ground.

The Process: I am always amazed at how wonderful the Artsy Papers are as a base for creating a layout. I began with an Artsy Paper from AP Autumn Haze. I added the frame, and then added the photo. I duplicated the photo, and placed it under the frame, blending in just a touch of it outside of the frame. I added the KrissKross Stitched Overlay, placing it so that it caught the corner of the frame. I added the charm, and the staples, masking the two so that it looked like the string went both under and on top of the staples. I added one transfer from AP Tinge, the brads, and artstrokes, and then a number of splatters, placing some of them on Blend Mode Divide, to make them white. I wanted the bits of scattered leaves from the base Artsy Paper to look like it was on top of the stitching, so I duplicated the background paper, and placed it on above the stitches layer in the layer stack, and then masked out all except for the leaves where the stitches were located, to make them look like the stitches were underneath. I added the small typed text, and then felt like it needed something more, to better tell the story of the park, so I blended in the truck and the giraffes at the left base of the framed giraffe.
