Pelicans are such goofy creatures but just look at how their wings furl on landing. And they can float about on the water like a little toy boat despite their awkward size. Something else I found out is they use their feet to incubate their eggs by standing on them- keeps them warm and laying an egg must be like giving birth itself because they lay them 2 or 3 days apart LOL But the most delightful thing I found out is that if they're sleeping - and they all stand around together when they do - if one gets an itch it will walk 10 metres or so away to have a scratch so as not to disturb anyone and when satisfied will go back to the group and settle to sleep again. How amazing is that!
