MY yard is undergoing a huge transformation this fall... First, I let the grass die and then painted lines on it with bright green paint, to show where the berms and pathways were to go... see the beginning on Maya's challenge...

Next was the sod cutter, and then we turned the sod over and started the berms... the driveway on the right was originally planned to be gravel, but a neighbor said no, not a good idea and offered to do cement , but he is very busy and I began to realize it was going to be hard to get him to carry through on that commitment even though I offered to let him renege on it...
the words...
Some of the first things we did after killing the grass was to rent a sod cutter and remove it... it was turned over and became the base of the berms... Making the driveway required a tractor of some sort, so I hired a guy from Craigs List... The proposed 2 hour project took 3 1/2 and Steve was in there helping all the way... Kind of the start of the price beginning to sky rocket!!! It really was not completed as well as it should have been. Steve has put more hours into fine tuning it... All the dirt from the driveway was added to the berms...
