Process: This is actually the same template that I used for my Japanese Garden layout. I think it looks quite different
For this layout, I deleted the frames on the template and replaced them with one blended photo. Then I started creating the background foundation for my photo. I used another photo taken the same day, duplicated it and attached a copy to the watercolor masks. I had chosen ArtPlay Summer Breeze for this photo and began with solid paper 3. I placed transfer 9 below the photo. Since I wanted to soften the background, I began turning on pieces from the template. I attached paper 2 to the paint layer so that I had a little extra texture. I also used the overlay bokeh from the palette. As a final step to finish my foundation, I placed the glow and used brushes on layer masks to soften the edges on some layers.
Then I began creating a visual triangle with elements. I added a stroke and yellow button. I stitched it down with some of the urban threads. On the left, I used parts of Multimedia Branches 2 to create interest in the top right corner. I duplicated and rotated those pieces before placing them on the left under my title. I added another copy of transfer 8. Before Im really finished, I always go back, adjust the blending, move things a little and check the journaling. I did that with this layout and now its done! And so is the ladder challenge for me. Tomorrow is Grandparents Day at school. Thats where you will find me
