To be alone but not lonely; to view isolation as an opportunity. Solitude is the capacity to cope positively with time spent alone. The capacity to utilize time alone for self-discovery, self-realization, meaning, wholeness, and heightened awareness
of one's deepest needs, feelings and impulses. The opposite of solitude is loneliness, Solitude involves a state of mind as well as a state of being or place.
