Back Trails
Above Bison Lake, we had the best view of several lakes. By the end of this fifth day we had
driven all the passable back trails in the area and seen an amazing number of beautiful lakes
and meadows full of wildflowers. We had seen elk, deer, marmots, chipmunks, rabbits, a
jackrabbit and a weasel. We had finished our stock of outdoor feasts from the cooler. We were
also tired of the dust and bumping along on the rocks and were ready to head out. With heavy
holiday Sunday traffic, the trip took 5 1/2 hours.
