When grandma's go to visit grandchildren they rarely see, I think there is an unspoken rule that gifts must be presented to them... therefore I started shopping for some small (in more ways than one... since they had to fit in my suitcase also!) items to take along for Rowan and Hawthorn... My first purchases of some very nice items from Tuesday Morning were nixed, by their parents... who said, just something inexpensive like from the Dollar Store... Little did they know that the dollar store ended up costing more than what I had already bought... but I digress...
So among the selection of several items each, was a water paint book ... one of those ones that all you use is a wet paint brush on the little black dots which magically turn to pretty colors... I remember spending hours doing this as a child and thought it might(?) be of some interest to Rowan. I have to say, I was very pleased when he immediately went and found a paintbrush and water, and started painting... So the old is new again...
