A challenge for Oscraps 8th Birthday party was to tell what I was doing 8 years ago which was the year 2006... well it was a BIG year... My Annual Christmas letter states that I attended 4 funerals and celebrated the birth of 2 babies and went on 5 different trips, not including those to my daughters place in Folsom... Kyler, my 2nd great Grandchild, was born on Dec. 30, 2005... so in January Julia and I headed east to N.C. to meet him and see how much Gessika had grown. Jan. also saw the first death, a man I had dated a couple of times... 60 years old he was the picture of good health... needless to say it was a huge surprise and happened on a day we actually had a date planned...yep, he was a NO SHOW!!! In February I photographed the wedding of good friends George and Laura... both 83 years young. March brought the death of another one who was much too young... Mike was only 52 and was dating Laurie a friend... His death was expected, but that did not make it any easier... Later in the spring another friend, Susie, lost her husband of only a year, he was only 62! Then in September Andree, another friend lost her sister...
