All Dressed Up

Journaling reads: I grew up getting all dressed up for the holidays, so of course when I had Rachel, I wanted to dress her up in the fanciest of dresses, even though California is quite laid back and casual. While everyone else was dressed in their best jeans, Rachel always had velvet and lace - at least until she was about 8.

Christmas Village Kit
Berks Lane Kit

The Process: I began with the background paper and added the photo, attaching it to the frame from AP Holly. Under the frame I added the MultiMedia Document, and the Paper frame from AP Holly, adding shadows to the various layers. I added the elements, applying shadows. To better highlight the photo area, I added the patterned paper, masking all out but around the photograph. I placed it on Blend Mode Multiply, and then copied that layer, recoloring it to green, and placed this layer on Linear Burn, bringing down the opacity to about 75%. I added the LoopDaLoop, changing it to red, then duplicated it, and using the Warp function of Transform, modified it to look like a shadow. I then change this modified LoopDaLoop to grey, and brought down its opacity. I added the red brads to the LoopDaLoop. I tucked in the word art and the journaling, and then added the edge overlay, changing its color. I finished up with the title, using the Glitter Alpha in red, and a script font in green, allowing the title to overlay the photo. I then added the Christmas Word Sheet, blending in just the words around the photograph. I changed the word sheet to red.
