Story:
The chatter between Ella and Luke is amusing at the best of times. Its so fun to listen to how their little minds work and essentially how they see world. At this time of year the chatter is elevated with anticipation and excitement for the promise of presents on Christmas day..

We headed to Target straight of the bus after school to purchase gifts for the teacher and bus driver. As I drove the care, I couldnt help but smile about the banter happening in the back seat of the car. They were talking about who was planning to get what for who. Luke had Ellas gift all figured out and was eager to tell me but didnt want Ella to hear. She had her fingers in her ears and was doing the *La la la la la* before she piped up and flat out admitted that she tunes out the important stuff anyway and only listens to what I would call trivia. Something we have known about Ella for a while. Luke still wasnt convinced and so he never did divulge his plans.

Later that night before bed, he sheepishly came into my office and I wondered if he had more secrets to tell. He was actually after a donut and didnt want to ask his Dad because he knows Im a soft touch. Love all this everyday family banter. 10 Dec 2012
