I used to think that the Kilo was a boring race. Sprinters go around the track three
times big deal. How wrong I was. When I started working with Calan and Mike
for Calans training, my understanding of the race completely changed. I gained such
an understanding of what a grueling race this was for any sprinter. To be able to go your fastest for three laps and not blow up at the end is pushing a sprinter to his very limit.
In my opinion it is the most grueling of all the races. Any racer worth his salt falls
off his bike when he is done.He is that spent. You can watch one coach
after another line up waiting to catch his rider when he finishes.
For Calan it was his personal best.
