Every day we would make the trip down from Roberts house to Moms, to help, to get ready, to mourn together.
One day she was not quite ready, so I walked down to the pond, the pond I remember differently from my childhood...the wall was not there, the fountain was not as strong, and it was not as clean. I am glad the pond made the transformation over the years to something lovely. Dad hated to see things decay and change, but I think he liked the changes in the park and pond which made it a prettier place to live.
I remember water lilies in the pond as a child. I wonder if these are new water lilies. They certainly looked very beautiful in the morning light, and it was a surprisingly beautiful day, this week in which we laid Dad to rest.
