Oooh!! I love the vintage feel of this page...like an old card or something. I am with you about those snow days. I have always lived places where we don't know if there will be a snow day until morning and we watch the tv or listen to the radio for the announcement. The phone calls weird me out...and around here in NC they cancel school for possible weather. Possible weather?? Sometimes the kids miss school and there is not a single snowflake to be seen. So, we get to make up a school day without a single snowman, snow angle or sled ride down a hill.

What a great page to remember "snow days" before cell phones.... and the anticipation of listening to the news.... I caught he first bus in the am.... I remember lots of times not finding out til we got to the bus stop and the hoopla when we all found out together! I loved sled riding!

My father was a teacher.
Sometimes my grandfather said to children on their way to school: 'no school today'.
And they believed him because they know he was my fathers father.
He didn't need snow or anything else, just joking!
