Journaling reads: I love that Harkness Tower can be seen from the New Haven Green. My favorite of all the Yale buildings. It is one of many that my Grand-father worked on as a mason in the early 1900s. Up close its beauty is remarkable, and the masonry work is true artistry. Seeing it from downtown is a reminder of family, & makes me feel like I am part of the history of this University. I stop, and gaze at it, in the quiet of the snow falling and think of an era long gone - a time much different than today. I imagine my grand-parents, young and strong, I try to imagine what life was like back then.
Your story is SO amazing - to see a piece of history everyday that your own grandfather worked on! Love the colors and esp. the cracked paint on the bottom!
