We're not Asian, but when there's a party, parade or celebration involved Nigel and I are more than willing to cross ethnic, cultural and social boundries! This was our first trip to see the Lion Dance Parade up close and personal. We marched around China Town next to the parade for about five blocks. Every so often the parade would stop in front of a store front and the proprietor would come out and light a seven foot string of firecrackers on a pole. Not the firecrackers you may be used to. These things were as big as my index finger!! It was the brightest, loudest most raucous parade I've ever witnessed. In other words...Right up our alley!! Our only regret was that we only had a couple of hours there as we had previous commitments (we're pretty busy guys#! Next year #or I should say three months from now# we're going to spend a day exploring what ChinaTown has to offer. We'll definately have an authentic Chinese dinner #at Nigel's request). He loves his sweet & sour!!
