These are a selection of photos taken from the time I taught in Africa in the mid 1990s. I lived and worked in a very remote part of Namibia for almost two years. It stole my heart away and gave me memories that will live with me forever. I knew straight away what song lyrics I was going to use this month. All my life I wanted to make a difference and have an adventure. Little did I understand that when I went to Africa on a two year teaching assignment, it would be me who would learn so many lessons a true reflection of all I had become? Africa changed my life forever. These lyrics by Tina Arena are very sad as they describe a parting of the ways; an attempt to build something together that was never going to be successful. I lost my courage and left before my contract was up, we came from different worlds and the challenges were many and at times insurmountable. However, without a doubt in my mind, it was THE most life changing adventure I have ever experienced.
