These tiny birds are charming in many ways. My journaling reads:

The day I came face to face with a male Ruby-crowned Kinglet flashing the red of his crest I was totally fascinated. I had to go to the library to learn his name and life style. He was a migrant on his way further north. I was just getting interested in birding and this was the pivotal moment to seal that interest.
