Jewish Roots

I've wanted to create something to honor my roots for a while, and Traci Murphy's fantastic new "Festival of Lights" kit helped me do that!

Mom always laughed when I started to use phrases like Oy Vey. She said I was getting in touch with my Jewish roots. Looking at my family, you can tell that there is some Jewish history there...we joke about the noses being the give-away. My great-great grandmother and grandfather were Isaac and Yetta Abraham....you cant get more Jewish than that. And though I may kid that my mother couldnt cook meat well because of her religious background, I am proud to have this part of my heritage. I have a beautiful Torah from my Great-Grandmother and am on the hunt to find out more about my ancestors. My mother may never have practiced Judaism, heck, even my grandmother converted when she was 12, but I cherish this part of my background, a part that is rich with history and emotion. So when I break out my Yiddish, just know that Im sending a simple little homage to Yetta, Isaac, and my roots!
Fabulous story telling, Sara - I was hanging on every word (whilst getting eye strain - hadn't realised you'd helpfully posted the journaling underneath!~!). Love the elegant grey background.

This is gorgeous Sara!! I love that background with that frame. It is so perfect and this is such a great page about your roots.
