Journaling reads: On October 23rd, 2008 my husband was recalled to active duty to go
to Afghanistan. I will always remember this date because it was my 1st day home from giving birth to our 2nd child. We had just moved a month before to an area where we knew no one and family was still a good 2 hrs away. I had lived through deployments with him before, but not a war deployment. Needless to say, we are both strong as individuals and as a couple and survived, yet again, in the face of adversity!
this gave me goosebumps. Give each other a big hug and a thank you to your DH and your family for your service.

Love the torn strip--I agree that it is so symbolic of what happened with your family when your husband deployed. I can't imagine bringing home a newborn without a husband's help. You are some woman! Thank you for giving up your husband at such an important time so that he could help keep this country free. And I thank him for his service as well. Great layout!

This is awesome. Wow... give that man a hug from me too for all he and his comrades do for us..

I can relate to this. Your page touched me deeply and reminds me. My husband is deployed and we are having our first child together in 11 weeks. At first I could handle it, but as we get closer I am having a hard time. I now we will be stronger when we get there. You touched my heart and reminded it to smile...
