journalling reads: this is what it took to be free from out-of-control consumerism. buying stuff we didnt need or want. going shopping because we had nothing better to do. shopping at all hours because now, shops are open all hours. wasting money, wasting space, wasting time. the move has been the best decision weve made in terms of committing to ourselves as a family. the small beach village life means less access to 24-hour-a-day shopping, but we are close enough to everything that we need. really.
