A stunning photo of the Clarence River taken by my DIL. Ange captured beautifully the magical feeling of sitting beside the river watching the sun set! Just across the water you can see Susan Island which can only be reached by boat and when the river floods the island just disappears! There is a fruit bat colony on the island and in summer you can watch them fill the sky as they leave the island to search for whatever fruit is available. To access this part of the river you drive south along the main street of Grafton and it finishes at the river! There is a boat ramp and little further along a lovely grassy bank to just sit and watch the river travel past on its way out to the Pacific ocean.
