Journaling: In 1995 I joined the US Army and left for basic training in July of 1996. I was scraed and nervous and had no idea what was going to happen but I went. It was nothing like I could have ever expected. It was a lot of hard work and the weather was nothing I could ever be ready for, but I finished and graduated then headed off to school to become an Army medic. Up to that time in my life it is the thing I am the most proud of having accomplished. I found that there was more I could learn about myself than I ever could have imagined and I was capable of accomplishing things I had never even dreamed of being able to do. I graduated the first time and felt the proudest I had ever felt.
