So I was in a sarcastic mood this morning - the title does not do what it says on the tin!
Journaling reads:
When you tell people you live on a tropical island in the middle of the South China Sea, they tend to say WOW, lucky you wall to wall sunshine. You must love the fabulous weather. But you know what, folks forget that tropical islands have monsoon seasons, and Singapore was no exception it had two seasons:
November March
April October
Yep, the entire year is monsoon season. So it rains here. A lot. Pretty well everyday. In fact the annual rainfall is approximately 90 inchs thats over 7 foot! And for the record, the annual rainfall in London, this traditionally maligned country weather wise, is only 24 inches, a mere 2 feet.
And another thing about living on a tropical island, its so bloody hot the whole time that the last thing you want to do is to head out to soak up some rays. Temperatures in Singapore do drop to 25 degrees C but only at 4 am in the morning. Otherwise, its pretty well 30-35 degrees EVERY DAY. Relentless. Unyielding. Just too much.
So I relish putting people straight when they comment on the lovely weather we must have enjoyed. I really hated the weather.
Come back English drizzle all is forgiven.
