Journaling reads: You sat behind me in band. I was a trumpet player, you were a tuba player, a year older than me. You were always so nice to the geeky trumpet player in front of you and I had the biggest crush. You were so sweet. After high school you joined the Army and were a helicopter pilot in Vietnam. I’ve lived life, some good, some not so good, I’ve grown older, but you didn’t get the chance.

I love your cool page, Jeanne, the poppies are beautiful and your title looks awesome!! The journaling..... perfect! (Make sure to add it to the challenge post, I almost missed it :) )

Beautiful and touching tribute page to a very special-sounding person. We lost too many friends and some relatives there, so this is extra special. The poppies are perfect!

What a dignified tribute to a remarkable young man, and what a tragedy for his family and friends.
Heartbreaking page.

@prospurring @anke55 @FloridaGranny @nia Thank you all for your sweet comments. I'm the daughter, sister, niece, cousin, of Veterans. I grew up love of God, Country, family, patriotism is in my blood. Our small town of 3500 lost 3 young men in Vietnam, one was my classmate's brother, he grew up a block and a half from me, I remember the day in Spanish class when they announced he'd been killed in action. While most people think I'm a little crazy anyway, I celebrate my Pops on Veterans Day by decorating for Christmas because I miss him the most on Veterans Day and Memorial Day.

Awww what an awesome tribute page...Thank you for the heartfelt journaling. and then your further explanation in comment above. I'm pretty sensitive to military too, wife of one. My dad, uncles, FIL and friends all served.

Thank, I have no time for people who disrespect my flag or country, they have the freedom to leave. The only heroes in this country are the ones who did, have, or are serving and the family and friends that support them IMHO.
